CM slams previous rulers for ignoring genuine problems, priorities of masses

Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that process of holding consultations with the National and provincial assembly members belonging to eight divisions has been completed.

Elected representatives have put forth their recommendations for resolving problems of their respective constituencies. Comprehensive discussions also took place about development schemes with regard to Annual Development Programmes for the next fiscal year, he added.

Development works will be undertaken by taking due consultations of elected representatives in their respective national and provincial assembly constituencies, he stated. Positive results for holding consultations will surface with regard to preparing budget for the next financial year. It will prove to be beneficial for ascertaining priorities relating to development programmes to be undertaken for every division in the coming budget, he maintained. There will be no compromise on the respect and dignity of national and provincial assembly members. Respect of elected representatives is my own respect and the whole team will keep on advancing forward with unity in its journey for rendering public service, he emphasized. No one will be allowed to create impediments in the due work of elected representatives.

He said that by launching artificial projects national exchequer was being squandered away in the past. The previous rulers ignored genuine priorities of masses of the province, he deplored. PTI government has abolished wrong practices of the past rulers and the culture of displaying pomp and show in politics has been done away with. Time of making verbal calculations has passed and concrete work is not only undertaken but also implemented now.

“The PTI government will further improve education and health facilities not only in cities but also in far-flung areas, he vowed. Water filtration plants will be installed under Aab Pak Authority and rupees eight billion have been allocated for the said purpose.”

He said that during the second phase of Naya Pakistan Manzlein Asaan Programme repair and construction of rural roads will continue and every area will be granted special funds for the construction and repair of roads. A committee has been constituted for setting up new districts and tehsils across the province, he stated. New districts and tehsils will be established in the light of recommendations put forth by the constituted committee headed by Provincial Law Minister Raja Basharat. Usman Buzdar further said that those areas which lagged behind in its journey of progress will be handed down their due rights and PTI government will improve public facilities in these areas. Every work is being carried out on merit in Punjab. “I have neither allowed anyone to work against merit nor will allow anyone to do so in future also”, he stated. A policy has also been chalked out to grant ownership rights to the Katchi Abadies. The mafias looting the masses will not be tolerated come what may, he emphasized. Mafias grabbing state lands will be taken to their logical end and operation against land grabbers will continue without any relent or pressure. PTI government has formulated concrete policy in order to resolve problems of the masses relating to every district, concluded Usman Buzdar.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar felicitated newly elected office-bearers of Lahore High Court Bar Association for winning elections. Usman Buzdar expressed his good wishes for the newly elected President Tahir Nasrullah Warraich, Vice President Barrister Saeed Nagra, Secretary Haroon Dogal and Finance Secretary Zeeshan Sulehria. He further hoped that newly elected office-bearers will play their effective role with regard to ensuring welfare of the lawyers community and new leadership will fully utilize its energies and efforts for resolving genuine problems of lawyers community, he concluded.

Separately, Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar while felicitating Baloch brothers on the occasion of Baloch Cultural Day said that Balochistan culture depicts culture of peace. Baloch Cultural Day is also being celebrated across Punjab. I extend my warm congratulations to my Balochi brothers on this auspicious day. Usman Buzdar further said that the spirit behind celebrating Baloch Cultural Day is to spread brotherhood, unity and promoting inter-provincial harmony. It is need of the time to promote inter-cultural harmony and homogeneity, he stressed. Only those nations progress which remember their culture and all the people living in Pakistan are knitted in a single thread, he maintained. The prominent features of love and patriotism are predominant in Baloch culture in similarity with other cultures of Pakistan. The Balochistan Culture holds its distinctive place and Balochistan also remained the cradle of culture and civilization. “My own tribe is also residing in Balochistan and we will celebrate other cultural days like Baloch Cultural Day with full zeal and zest”, concluded Usman Buzdar.

The Chief Minister also expressed a deep sense of grief and sorrow over the death of three youngsters for being smashed by a truck near Pir Makki area of Lahore. Usman Buzdar expressed his heartfelt sympathies and sorrow with the heirs of deceased youngsters. He sought a report from the administration and police authorities about the accident and assured that the heirs of deceased youngsters will be provided with justice at any cost. Usman Buzdar further directed that stern action should be taken against the driver according to law found responsible for causing the accident.
