Performance in education sector reviewed

PESHAWAR: Advisor to Chief Minister KP on Higher Education and Information, Mushtaq Ghani has directed the authorities concerned to forward a case for extension of contract of Teaching Assistants that will expire by next month.

He issued these directives, while presiding over a meeting to review performance of Higher Education Department of Peshawar, on Wednesday.

He expressed apprehension over future status of Teaching Assistants and asked the department to prepare a summary for conversion of their Cadre to ad-hoc lecturers.

He said the Teaching Assistants are appointed after qualifying the same HETTA test conducted by Higher Education department for selection of ad-hoc lecturers. He expressed dismay over snail pace of work in departmental matters.
