LAHORE: Following the passage of the Whistleblower and Vigilance Commission Bill 2015 by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has demanded the Punjab government to draft a law encouraging people to expose corruption and get 30 percent of the recovered ill-gotten money as a reward.
The demand was made by the PTI legislator Dr Murad Rass in a resolution submitted in the Notice Branch of the Punjab Assembly Secretariat here on Wednesday in which he said that 30 percent of the total amount of recovery should be given to a person, who identifies any corruption case in provincial departments.
In the resolution, he said an appreciation certificate should also be awarded to a whistleblower on corrupt on the irregular and corruption practices. The resolution further demanded the government to ensure security to a whistleblower.
Separately, PTI legislator Ahmad Khan Bhachar filed a resolution demanding the Punjab government to start an air ambulance service for the citizens of the provincial capital.
“Owing to poor traffic system in the city, ambulances shifting patients to nearest hospitals get stuck in traffic jams, thus endangering the lives of the patients, so the government should start an air ambulance service to protect the lives of the citizens,” the resolution stated.
Sources said both the resolution would hopefully be tabled in the next session of the Punjab Assembly expected to be held in October.
