MUET Pro-VC calls for protecting native language

Pro Vice chancellor of Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET) Prof Dr Taha Hussain demanded the protection for the mother tongue.

He said that it was responsibility of we people to protect the mother tongue.

He was speaking the program on topic of importance of mother tongue on the eve of International Mother Language Day held at senate hall of MUET and organized by the English Language Development Centre.

He said that language was not only way of communication but it was affiliated with dreams and thinking.

Prof Dr Abdul Sami Qureshi Dean faculty of sciences, technology and humanitarian of MUET Jamshoro said that for the protection of mother language, it was need to work on translation of language in other languages. He said that he was working on joint engineering dictionary of English, Sindhi and German languages.

Prof Dr Habibullah Pathan renowned linguistic and director of English Language Development Centre said that for the development of mother languages, we have to own the mother language.
