PM House should be raided to arrest wheat and sugar hoarders: Shehbaz

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz President Shehbaz Sharif Thursday said Prime Minister Imran Khan has given NRO-type concession to his ‘friends by hiding the investigation report of the ongoing wheat and sugar crisis’. “Niazi (PM Imran) has proven that he is an accomplice of the culprits by not making the report public,” the PML-N president said in a statement, adding that the PTI government’s silence over the crisis is tantamount to confessing the crime. Shehbaz said that to arrest the smugglers and hoarders of wheat and sugar, “the PM House should be raided”. He further said that those behind hoarding and profiteering of edibles should be brought forth. Wheat prices skyrocketed across country last month after fears of a looming shortage of wheat and sugar hit markets. The government had said it was doing all it could to contain the crisis, amid allegations from the opposition that the government was ill-equipped to deal with the issue. PML-N Spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb also said on Thursday that Prime Minister Imran and his government cannot place the blame of their corruption, theft, and destruction of economy on media. In a statement, she said the State Bank of Pakistan is telling the tale of the PTI government’s incompetence and destructive ways. “Imran mafia cannot place the blame of their corruption, incompetence on media,” she said.
