LAHORE: Punjab Mineral Development Corporation (PUNJMIN) would import latest machinery to explore mineral resources of the province soon.
“All necessary arrangements are being finalised in this regard. The latest machinery can help the country curb the problems it has been facing for a long time,” said PUNJMIN Chairman Mian Numan Kabir while meeting a delegation of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) as well as geologists on Thursday. PANJMIN Managing Director Mian Ibrar Ahmad was also present on the occasion.
Numan Kabir said that Punjab was rich in mineral resources and it could easily over come energy crisis through the help of academia and business community in a short period of time. He said that the world was experimenting with latest and cheaper sources of energy, while our motherland was blessed with such natural resources.
The PUNJMIN chairman further stated that nature has blessed Pakistan with oil, gas and coal, but these natural gifts need heavy investments from the Pakistani business community. “By importing latest equipment to discover natural resources, we can swiftly achieve the targets set for economic development,” he added.
He said that unemployment would also reduce by taking these measures and people would have more opportunities to work. Legislation was being speedily processed for better welfare of workers of PUNJMIN and their families, he concluded.
