Lawmakers salute COAS for his brilliance and bravery

ISLAMABAD: Parliamentary Committee on Defence Production on Thursday declared Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif an outstanding commander.

The body also praised the role of army for peace and law and order in the country. The committee gave India a clear message that every Pakistani knows how to protect the motherland.

The body met in the Parliament House under the chairmanship of Khawaja Sohail Mansoor to discuss the role of Directorate General Procurement (Army).

The committee members were informed by the Defence Production Ministry and Defence Ministry about irrelevancy of the role of director general (army) with the Defence Production Ministry. The members were also informed by the Defence Ministry representative that DG (army) was working under the COAS.

The committee unanimously welcomed the prime minister’s speech in the United Nation. The body was of the view that it would be an enormous message to the Indian prime minister and Indian nation.

The body unanimously praised General Raheel Sharif for being an excellent and outstanding commander. The body also admired the Pakistan Army for its untiring role in bringing peace. The body chairman said that the Pakistani nation and all political parties support the Pakistan Army and COAS against Indian belligerence on Line of Control (LOC) without any political differences. The committee members strongly seconded the statement of the chairman.

In their message to India, non-Muslim members said, “Pakistani soil is mother of all non-Muslims and everyone knows how to protect and respect the mother.”

The members were of the opinion that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor would be the backbone of Pakistan’s economy.

The body decided that it would visit the memorial of Pakistan Army martyrs at GHQ Rawalpindi.
