KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday issued a warning to Director General (DG) Rangers Sindh, Inspector General (IG) Sindh Police, Additional IG and others to respond within a week in a missing person’s case.
The division bench comprising of Justice Irfaan Saadat Khan and Justice Muhammad Karim Khan Agha conducted a hearing on a constitutional petition filed by Sayed Nunehal Hussain Zaidi.
The petitioner submitted that his father Sayed Nayab Hussain Zaidi was taken into custody by law enforcers and his whereabouts are not known yet, the life of the detainee could be in great danger in these circumstances.
The court has granted one week’s time to all the officials and has stated that this is their last chance.
The petitioner stated earlier that his father was picked up on July 20th by four unknown persons in plain clothes. He said his father was sitting with his friends in a park near his residence in Qasba colony.
Zaidi submitted that they have approached the area police but SHO Peerabad refused to lodge an FIR. There is serious apprehension that his father would be booked in false cases despite that he never had any association with any religious or political party.
