3rd Sargodha Literary Festival begins on March 11

The 3rd edition of the annual Sargodha Literary Festival (SLF) and Sports Gala will be held from March 6 to March 12 at the main campus of the University of Sargodha. This was announced during a meeting held on Wednesday with the Vice Chancellor Dr Ishtiaq Ahmad in the chair. The meeting formed committees and allocated responsibilities for conduction of the grand event. Dr Khalid Nadeem, Incharge Department of Urdu and Oriental Languages, will be the convener of the Festival.

According to the details, the Sports Gala, which will also feature mind and e-games, would be held from March 6 to March 10. On its concluding day, all Punjab tent pegging competition will take place in which tent peggers from the entire province will participate.

The Literary Festival will take place on March 11-12, in which renowned writers, poets, and critiques from across Pakistan will participate. It is hoped that Iftikhar Arif, Mustansir Hussain Tarar, Asghar Nadim Syed, Kishwar Nahid, Wajahat Masood, Dr Nadim Tarar, Zafar Ullah Khan, and Sheraz Haider will attend the Festival. The Festival will feature various sessions, including the Dabistan-e-Sargodha, Old City New Bazaar, and Punjab Rung. A two-day book fair will also be a part of the Festival whereas the artistic work of Ejazul Hassan will also be displayed. On the occasion, students of the Department of English will also present a stage play at the Jinnah Hall of the university.
