ISLAMABAD: Armed forces have been put on high alert to thwart the nefarious intentions of the enemy.
Defence sources told Daily Times that the armed forces are on high alert while training exercises are continued as well. The armed forces are fully aware of the development taking place on the Line of Control and on Working Boundary.
On the other hand, Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has started exercise ‘High Mark 2016’. The PAF spokesman said these exercises are vital for the PAF.
Sources said that due to these exercises motorway from Lahore to Islamabad and Islamabad to Peshawar remained closed for traffic. PAF fighter jets took off and landed on motorway safely and successfully. F16 and Dossault Mirage aircraft took part in these exercises in which pilots showed their expertise to land in any extraordinary situation.
Pakistan Navy is also ready to meet any challenge and Vice Chief of the Naval Staff Vice Admiral Khan Hasham Bin Siddique visited coastal area, including Turbat, Makran, Jiwani and Ormara to witness the operational readiness of the navy units.
According to a PN spokesman, during his visit the admiral was briefed about the operational readiness and associated security aspects at Gwadar port, particularly with respect to CPEC to thwart any threat. He said Pakistan Navy is committed to defending maritime infrastructure and protection of the maritime interests of Pakistan. The admiral reiterated that Pakistan Navy is fully geared up to provide security to CPEC project.
Talking to officers, Vice Admiral Khan Hasham Bin Siddique lauded their hard work, devotion and high morale in carrying out the onerous task of defending the maritime frontiers of the country. He also expressed his satisfaction on operational preparedness of the PN.
Defense Minister Khawaja Asif wrote on Twitter, “The defenders of our skies, in a state of constant readiness, Alhamdolillah. Our motorways are our runways.” Sources added that military leadership is continuously monitoring the situation.
