QUETTA: A police officer was shot dead by unidentified gunmen at a bus stop in Quetta on Friday. According to police sources, the victim identified as Sub-Inspector Muhammad Zafar Wazeer, was on his way to work, when two armed assailants riding a motorcycle opened fire at him and fled from the scene, near Dubai Centre. As a result, he died on the spot. The body of the deceased was shifted to the civil hospital for medico-legal formalities. The security forces reached the site and cordoned off the entire area and launched a search to trace out the suspects. Further, investigation was underway.
