SHC dismisses PALPA’s petition

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Fridaydismissed pilot association’s petition seeking restoration of ‘Pension Trust Dead’. A two judge bench headed by Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar conducted hearing. After hearing arguments of the Advocates of the parties, the Court endorsed the decision of PIA and dismissed PALPA’s constitutional petition. the applicants in their petition submitted that a charter between Pakistan Airline Pilots’ Association (PALPA) and Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) was signed in 2002 according to that agreement PIA administration is liable to issue pension funds to PIA’s retired pilots. But in 2003 the PIA administration ceased pension trust dead therefore the court may kindly direct PIA to restore PTD and issue pensions to the retired pilots.
