Anti-polio drive to starts across Azad Kashmir

MUZAFFARABAD: Three day anti-polio campaign to starts across Azad Jammu Kashmir from September 25 and some 1,16,570 children under five years age to administered polio drops in district Muzaffarabad.

Director Health Services and Administration Dr Manzoor Ahmed inaugurated the polio drive at DHO office Lower Chatter here on Saturday while administering the polio drops to the children. Dr Zaffar Iqbal said that some 330 mobile teams, 57 fix centers and 16 transit points have been established to administer polio drops to the children.

Besides around at 82 area Managers and 8 zonal Supervisors have been appointed at union council level to train, monitor and provide timely polio vaccines and other necessary equipment in the field to ensure successful anti polio drive and let not any child spare in the district, he added.

Dr Zaffar said that two control rooms have been set up in Muzaffarabad one in EPI Headquarter near DHO office Lower Chatter while the second control Room has been set up in Deputy Commissioner Office Muzaffarabad to ensure the successful drive in the district which would remain open from 8:am to 8:pm.

Additional Director Health services Dr. Masood Bukhari, DHO Dr Sardar Zaffar Iqbal, Dr Raheela and other officials were also present on the occasion.
