SUKKUR: Sindh’s Chief Minister Sayed Murad Ali has said Sukkur is an important city that needs more development schemes as after 2010 flood people migrated from katchha area villages to Sukkur.
Addressing a press conference at press club Sukkur on Saturday, Murad Ali Shah said that the situation of Sukkur is deteriorating since 2008 and nobody paid attention to resolve these issues.
He said Rs 2500 million have been released in two months and a half from annual development program (ADP) for Sukkur but the city needs more development schemes.
He said MQM disassociated itself from Muttahida’s Chief and National and Sindh Assembly have passed resolutions against MQM chief. Chief Minister alleged that Sepco is issuing excessive bills to its customers. “Sepco issued bills of 77 million to the government, and they are treating us as if we were thieves,” said the CM. Sayed Murad Ali said land for journalists’ colony would be approved as soon as Supreme Court lifts ban on lease.
He said there is no shortage of hospitals and doctors in Thar. He admitted that Sindh is facing shortage of honest and skilled officers in the province.
He assured that the problems of Sardar Ghulam Muhammad Medical Collages (SGMC) will be resolved. Earlier, Chief Minister visited the SIUT and opposition leader in national assembly Sayed Khurshed Shah briefed him about SIUT projects.
The CM told that SIUT complex would be completed with the cost of Rs. 400 billion. He said Sukkur’s municipal system will be improved.
The CM informed that Rs 40 million were allocated for the rehabilitation of Masoom Shah Jo Minaro. Sayed Khurshed Ahmed Shah, provincial minister Sayed Nasir Ali Shah, MPA Sayed Javed Ali Shah, Hajji Anwwer Ali Mahar, Mumtaz Ali Bukhari, Farzana Shaeen Mangnejo, and Dr. Zamir Phull were also present on the occasion.
