‘Pakistan will never allow anyone to use its soil for violence’

NEW DELHI: Pakistani High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit said that Pakistan will never allow anyone to use its soil for propagating violence.

In an interview with an Indian newspaper on Sunday, he said that both the countries accepted that the Kashmir issue has been a long standing dispute between them.

“The war against terrorism can’t be won without cooperation between the two states,” said Basit.

He said that Pakistan is not related to the Uri incident in any way and to accuse the country before any investigation is not right India. He reminded the Indians of the Pathankot incident after which Pakistan cooperated.

Basit said that diplomacy should win between both the countries as even in the United Nations General Assembly Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also insisted on resolving all the outstanding disputes between India and Pakistan peacefully.

The high commissioner also said that Pakistan thinks positively of India and seeks cordial relations.
