As many as 28 posts of lecturers, assistant professors and professors are lying vacant at Government Boys Degree College, Naundero, since over two years due to which education of the students has been very badly affected but so far nobody has taken the pains to fill them on merit for providing quality education.

According to college authorities 16 posts of lecturers of BPS-17 are vacant, 10 posts of assistant professors of BPS-18 are vacant and three posts of professors are vacant since long for which they have written several letters to their bosses but all in vain. Computer lecturer is available but there are no computers for which also college authorities wrote so many letters to provide at least 200 computers but without response in this computer science technology era. There are no lecturers for Physics, Islamiat and Urdu. There is no professor, assistant professors or even lecturer for Chemistry and a lecturer of Madeji College has been detailed to work who randomly come to teach chemistry. There is separate building for computer education but it is lying idle without computers. There is separate auditorium hall but it lack proper furniture. There is no proper arrangement for drinking water and summer season is approaching very fast due to which students will be forced to drink contaminated water. 3000 books have been kept at the library, which include text and general knowledge books as well but it requires more.

Prof. Taj Muhammad Gachal donated 500 books to the library which have been helpful to the students but government is still wandering what to do. There are laboratories of physics, chemistry and biology but without proper teachers.

The residents Ghulam Sarwar Narejo, Irshad Katpar, Choith Ram, Ghulam Rasul, Javed Bhutto and others have questioned how their sons will appear in forthcoming annual exams when they have not been taught essential subjects and how will they compete in the world when they are in the practical field. They said unavailability of required teachers in educational institution has increased copy culture, usage of unfair means and cheating by the students for which only Sindh government is responsible and should always be blamed. They said that students of hometown of Bhutto leaders are being educationally murdered. They said during past 12 years of PPP rule no development has taken place here and even educational institution’s requirements have not yet been fulfilled. The college is located near Rice Canal and during Abkalani season water-logging and salinity create lot of problems for the college building which has also damaged it.

Prof. Umed Ali Samtio, Principal of the college, told newsmen on Monday that college is facing acute shortage of teachers of essential subjects and drinking water facilities for which he has written many letters but so far without result. He said there are no computers in the college in this information technology era. He said during summer season massive electricity outage is carried out as this college has been connected with village feeder which too has added to the miseries of the students. He urged PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah to take notice of the issues confronted by this college and order their resolution.
