ISLAMABAD: The 27th meeting of Benazir Income Support Programme’s Board of Directors will be held today (Monday), in which the annual budget for the fiscal year 2016-17 worth Rs 115 billion will be approved. The issues to be discussed concern increasing the number of deserving persons under BISP programme to 5.3 million people, payment of 10% ad hoc relief to the employees of the department, restructuring audit committees and presenting the report of the first quarter of the current fiscal year in the meeting. 300,000 people in need will benefit from the Waseela-i-Taleem programme. Rs 440 million were distributed among 92,000 deserving people during the fiscal year 2015-16.
