SUKKUR: Opposition Leader in Parliament Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah visited the various minors and distributaries of the Rohri, Salehpat and Pano Akil taluka over the repeated complaints and protests of the growers of power theft and water shortage in tell end growers. In a protest in front of Syed Khursheed shah house growers of the Pano Akil and Salehpat have accused the officials of irrigation department of artificial water shortage as irrigation was allegedly sold by the officials. The corrupt officials of the department had been selling water to big landlords whose lands were situated at the head of the distributaries, who used up all the water there was in the minor leaving nothing for the tail-end growers, they alleged and claimed that they had not received water for seven months. Syed Khursheed Ahmed during his visits of Korai Wah, Bibli minor Qazi Wah and others instructed, the SDO, Executive Engineer and director of Nara Canal to take measures as to small and tell end growers could be supplied with irrigation water without further delay. Shah had also ordered the SSP Sukkur to book all the big land lords of area who are found to be involved in power theft.
