FIR lodged against 16 Christians for ransacking hospital

UMERKOT: Following the orders of District and Session court, FIR of ransacking and enraged has been lodged against 16 members of Masih community including Irfan Masih’s brother on the application of Medical superintendent (MS) of civil hospital Umerkot.

Dr Mohammad Jam (MS) who had filed an application after four days of incident at local police station stated that on first June they were on duties, three patients were brought as an emergency case, out of which Yaqoob and Shoukat were referred after first-aid, while they found Irfan dead based on their experience and declared the same.

Liaquat Mashih Cousin of Irfan Masih told that doctors are pressurizing us to lift the case, which is unfair as our person have gone because of doctors ignorance behavior and meanwhile case has been registered on us. He claimed to have a video that depicts breathing Irfan, which they will produce to the court. He further added that Irfan was alive for 30-35 in hospital. He also shared that Health department’s Inquiry Committee was not impartial; therefore they wanted to save their department fellows.

When contacted, Dr Jam Kumbhar said that the decision of FIR was made in consultation with district administration and concerned authorities and as being custodian it was his responsibility to justify the losses of hospital articles which he did through FIR lodging.

Mohsin Raza SHO city police station told that hospital administration submitted application and later they did not visit police station for FIR that got late. After lodging the FIR we will deal the accused ones as per the law provisions.
