Roadside explosion in Charsadda leaves four policemen, five civilians injured

PESHAWAR: Estimated figures reveal that nine people including four policemen got injured in a blast on roadside in Charsadda. According to investigators the blast came from an improvised Explosive Device (IED), targeting a police van.

The banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the attack in an email sent to journalists.

The police van was on a routine patrol within the bounds of Sro area of Charsadda’s Shabqadar tehsil when the bomb, planted along roadside went off, injuring four police force officials and civilians who were by.

Police and rescue officials arrived at the scene and shifted the injured to tehsil headquarters hospital.

According to hospital administration, three of the injured who were in critical condition were shifted to Peshawar.
