ISLAMABAD: A lower court of Islamabad on Monday acquitted Maulana Abdul Aziz, former Khatib of Lal Masjid, in a case of hate speech and violation of Amplifier Act. However, the court issued notices to the plaintiffs in another case of hurling threats to the members of civil society. Islamabad’s Judicial Magistrate Muhammad Nasir Uddin heard the plea of Aziz in the two cases registered against him at Aabpara Police Station. After hearing the arguments, the court acquitted him in the hate speech case, while notices issued to the plaintiffs including Jabran Nasir and others in the other case.
