PTI, PML-Q to contest LG polls together: Sarwar

Author: Staff Report

Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has said that the PML-N should not be over-confident because Q-League and other allied parties are very much with the government.

“Prime Minister Imran Khan is not a compromising but a leader firm on principles. PTI will contest local bodies and next general election in alliance with PML-Q, besides taking it along on all issues at federal and Punjab level.”

The allies’ reservations is not a matter of too worry about and even a single day will not be reduce from constitutional term of government as general election will be conducted in year 2023. All the allied parties have made it clear that they will not become part of any move aimed at toppling the government. Prime Minister Imran Khan has united Punjabis of both sides through Kartarpur Corridor Project. We all Punjabis will work together for promotion of “Punjabi language and culture”. He expressed these views while talking to media and addressing the inaugural session of 3rd International Conference on Punjabi Language, Literature, Art and Culture organized by Punjabi Department of Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) here on Thursday.

On this occasion, Sikh Yatri from abroad Dr Harendar Singh, Petron-in-Chief Prof. Dr. Bushra Mirza, Focal Person Dr Mujahida Butt, Fareha Basit and others were also present. Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar also inaugurated a new block constructed in cooperation with the Higher Education Commission at the LCWU. Completed with a cost of Rs 220 million, the new block will accommodate more than 1,900 students of 10 various departments of the varsity. Later talking to media, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that contacts are always there in politics and if Q-League is in contact with an opposition party, it is not a matter to be worried about. Reality is that PML-Q is standing beside the government even today and Prime Minister Imran Khan has also expressed the commitment to take along the allied parties. In Sha Allah, we and PML-Q will jointly contest the local bodies’ polls and the next general election as well, and government will complete its constitutional term. He said that opposition has bleak future and even a single day will not be reduced from constitutional term of the government, and next general election will be held in year 2023. “I have firm belief that Imran Khan will put the country out of prevailing problems and challenges.” The opposition, which put the country under billions of dollars debt, will have to be held accountable. Pakistan is advancing successfully on diplomatic front and the world is acknowledging and supporting Pakistan’s narrative on peace.

Addressing the conference, Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said, I congratulate Lahore College for Women University (LCWU) for hold 3rd International Conference on Punjabi Language, Literature, Art and Culture. Wherever Punjabi lives in the world, he loves Punjab, he said, citing that despite living 37 years of his life far from Punjab, he finds none in other languages the feel and taste of speaking Punjabi. We all Punjabi will have to make joint efforts for promotion of Punjabi language and culture. We welcome the scholars from US, Canada and other countries. He observed that Kartarpur Corridor Project has further brought Punjabis of both sides closer together. Contrary to the world, womenfolk in Pakistan are advancing in various fields at a faster pace and government is also ensuring to take all steps for women empowerment.
