5th Kashmir convention in Punjab University strives to shake world conscience

Punjab University College of Earth and Environmental Sciences organized 5th Kashmir convention. Provincial minister for energy, Dr Akhtar Malik graced the occasion with his presence.

Besides hundreds of the students and teachers the  convention  was attended and addressed  among others  by college Principle Dr Sajid Rashid and Air Marshal (R) Sajid Habib  attended the convention.

Dr. Akhtar Malik maintained that unity is the sole solution to all the problems of Pakistan. He proclaimed that freedom of Kashmir is inevitable and urged the global community particularly United Nations to intervene in the matter and force Modi government to stop genocide of innocent people of occupied Kashmir.

He further highlighted that hypocrisy is the dilemma of our society. We need to reconsider our objectives and vision that was initially laid by Quaid e Azam.

He further said that the entire nation had stood behind the people of Kashmir until they would achieve freedom from Indian subjugation.

Moreover, Dr. Sajid Rashid called upon the major international players to urge India to respect the Human Rights Charter, put an immediate end to gross human rights violations in the occupied Kashmir.

Addressing the conference,  Dr Sajid Rashid said “the Humanity is bleeding in Kashmir, people are distressed, life is extremely difficult with each passing day”. He continued “assassination of innocent Kashmiris, mass  custodial killings, rape and grievous injuries are daily occurrences. Overt the time we have sacrificed our three generations of under a reign of unchecked terror. Sadly the world conscience has not spoken up enough to end this impunity. Bloodshed campaign launched by Modi Govt. was a violation of Geneva Convention and humanitarian laws, Dr. Rashid added.

The convention further called upon whole world to raise voice on behalf of half widows, victims of rape, families of those who have disappeared, the families of the victims of these killings, unmarked graves in the bleeding valley of Indian occupied Kashmir.
