KARACHI: Provincial Minister for Education and Literacy Jam Mehtab Hussain, while taking serious notice of 14 Higher Secondary Schools and Colleges showing zero percent results in the exams of Arts Regular under Higher Secondary Board Karachi, has directed Secretary Education and Director General Colleges to take action against the heads of these educational institutions which have failed to produce the results.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday, he said that it was really shocking to learn that despite huge resources and the teaching staff available why they were unable to give good results in the examinations. He directed the officers concerned to not only ensure the attendance of the students in the classes but also focus on teaching activities.
Meanwhile, Minister Education Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has also taken notice of corporeal punishment in a private school of Deharki that caused injury to a student. He directed the Director General Private Institutions to take steps to eradicate physical punishment in private schools and take action against those private schools that violated the rules and regulations. He said that no institution would be allowed to violate the rules.
