CTP to launch drive against pressure horns, number plates

RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi City Traffic Police (CTP) will launch a special drive against pressure horns and improper number plates on Friday.

According to City Police Officer (CTO) Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Dr Sardar Ghias Gul, two-days have been given to the vehicle owners to remove pressure horns and improper number plates. Special drive will be launched on Friday in all tehsils of the district and strict action in accordance with the law will be taken against the violators.

Vehicles will be impounded while challan tickets will also be issued for not removing pressure horns and improper number plates, he added. The CTO said that special checking in this regard would continue. The traffic rules are meant for the safety of the drivers and the passengers, he added.

He said that traffic rules must be observed on roads as these are for the safety of the drivers and other road users as well. The CTO informed that special campaigns were launched in the past by the traffic police to educate road users especially motorists about observance of traffic rules which are for their own safety. He asked the drivers to follow traffic rules which make the journey on roads more safe and secure.

Efforts are being made to persuade the road users in the traffic management and an awareness campaign is also being run for observance of traffic rules, he said stressing strict observance of traffic rules as only through this way, safe and secure journey on the roads could be ensured. He said that the vehicles and motorcycles on roads without proper documents are also being impounded in the respective police stations.
