Nawaz Sharif’s personal physician said that a “comprehensive” health report of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has been submitted to the Government of Punjab.

In a post on Twitter, Dr Adnan Khan shared copies of the letter addressed to Punjab Home Department and said the “detailed conclusive medical letter was submitted earlier TODAY”. It was based “on latest medical reports, specialists’ opinions & future management plan”.

According to the physician, the report “amply substantiates the seriousness of his multiple, complex ailments which require short, medium and long term treatment & aggressive continuous management”.

“Political point scoring on the issue is extremely unfortunate,” he added.

Earlier this month, Punjab Health Minister Yasmin Rashid had said that the relief granted to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif for medical treatment abroad had expired and he should submit an updated report regarding his health to the provincial authorities.

In the letter written to the former premier on Tuesday, the Punjab home department directed Sharif to submit updated medical reports to the department within three days. “Medical reports should be submitted so the concerned officials can check and verify them,” the letter read.
