He has served Pakistan Air Force (PAF) for about 40 years and remained on various key positions, including chairman of Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) Kamra, commandant of Combat Commanders School, and chief project director of JF-17 Fighter aircraft production program. He is a renowned expert of aerospace development policies and doctrine formulation and implementation strategies. He is the graduate of defense & strategic studies form Air War College and also did his master in War Studies from National Defense University, Islamabad. He possesses high command and management skills along with advanced knowledge of emerging fields in academia. He has also served as Director Policy and Doctrine at Center for Aerospace and Security Studies (CASS), Islamabad. In recognition of his meritorious services at Pakistan Air Force, he has been decorated with Tamgha-e-Imtiaz, Sitara-e-Imtiaz and Hilal-e-Imtiaz (Military).
