‘Civil society and media to join hands for the implementation of RTI bill’

KARACHI: Advisor to CM Sindh for Information Moula Bux Chandio while addressing at a conference on “Provincial Rights to Information Laws: Issues and Challenges”, stressed upon the media to sense their due responsibility to make the masses understand about the benefits of Rights of Information Bill.

Addressing as a key note speaker on the occasion, he categorically said that the enactment of Rights of Information Laws was the need of time. “But I am of the personal opinion that still more betterment can be achieved after consulting with all the stake holders and further brain storming, if required”, he added.

Moula Bux Chandio added that the foremost and significant element with regard to Right of Information Laws was its even implementation and for this purpose a joint effort would be required. “Civil Society and media should join hands with the Government for implementing it in the Information Laws in letter and spirit”, he further said.

Advisor for Information disclosed that maximum possible endeavors have been poured in for drafting the Laws and now the standing committee was examining it to finalize it as per the aspirations of the masses. He added, “we all are here to work together and will jointly eradicate the social evils from the society so as to make it a worth living place for common man.”

The Conference was organized by Centre for Peace and Development Initiatives (CDPI); and was also addressed by legislatives from Baluchistan amongst others Assembly amongst others and senior journalists.
