Two women MPAs may be inducted into KP cabinet

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Shaukat Yousafzai Monday said two women are expected to be given portfolios in the provincial cabinet. “The three ministries that were vacated on Sunday will be kept by the chief minister until a decision is taken,” Yousafzai told a private TV channel. He said Atif Khan, Shahram Khan Tarakai and Shakeel Ahmed were allegedly involved in creation of a ‘pressure group’ against the provincial government led by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). He said the sacked ministers were not following the decisions taken by the cabinet. “I think, it is impossible to remain a member of the cabinet when you are not obeying its decisions,” he said. “Party leadership tried a lot to resolve the issues but all efforts went in vain,” he added. Meanwhile, Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Monday sought report on the performance of the KP cabinet. In a statement, the prime minister clarified that every PTI leader whether he is a minister or advisor has to follow the party discipline. No compromise on rules and regulations set by the party will ever be made, he asserted. The statement came after three provincial ministers were removed from the cabinet. A notification issued by KP Chief Secretary Taj Muhammad stated that the governor exercised his powers under Article 132 read with clause 1 of Article 105 of the constitution of Pakistan.
