Two women held at Multan Airport for wearing 14 kgs of jewellery

MULTAN: Airport authorities arrested two women from Multan International airport on Thursday with 14 kg gold ornaments and 37,000 Saudi Riyals. According to reports, a woman Haleema, resident of Lahore, and Sumaira, hailing from Multan, were travelling to Dubai. They were wearing heavy gold ornaments, weighing in kilogrammes, and were carrying 37,000 Saudi Riyals. During their checking, the authorities apprehended the women and handed them over to customs officials. It is pertinent to mention that law does not allow passengers to wear gold jewelry weighing in kilogrammes and travel. Also a passenger can only carry up to $10,000 with him.
