Pakistan artists working in India should return home: Asima Butt

Author: By Muzaffar Ahmad Bhatti

ISLAMABAD: Renowned film director and producer Asima Butt has urged all Pakistani artists working in Bollywood to demonstrate patriotism and quit India. In a statement issued here Thursday she said India is our enemy and it does not want Pakistan to flourish. In the prevailing situation our all Pakistan artists should showcase the spirit of patriotism for the country, quit all their ongoing projects in Bollywood and return to Pakistan.
She said Pakistan is their identity and their life. ‘How can we work with those who are raising fingers on our honour and sanctity? On one hand India is perpetrating brutalities on Kashmiris, continuing unprovoked firing on our borders and martyring our soldiers. On the other hand, our TV channels continue to relay Indian dramas and songs day in day out. This situation is very shameful for us.’
She underlined that our dramas and films have been banned in India; therefore, PEMRA should also ban all such TV channels which transmit Indian dramas and films. She asserted that the majority of Pakistani artists were patriotic and would stand shoulder to shoulder with our armed forces if testing times arrived.
