Former president and Chief of Army Staff Gen (R) Pervez Musharraf, while talking to press, said India was being overly hysterical about war and accused Narendra Modi, Defense Minister Sushma Swaraj and DGMO making false allegations over Pakistan.
He said that Sushma Swaraj’s speech at UN General Assembly was not inclined towards resolving the issue as she had called Indian-held Kashmir as India’s integral part. When the interviewer justified Swaraj’s speech’s content as the need of the hour owing to present conditions, Musharraf reminded her that it was Indian army that killed more than 80 innocent Kashmiris and, therefore, has itself generated these conditions. There was no contribution from Pakistan’s side whatsoever.
He also equated the idea of engaging in a war as lunacy as he assured that India’s strike will not be left unanswered and Pakistan will strike back befittingly.
He mentioned that both the countries have technologically advanced weapons and war would result in a large-scale devastation. He suggested resolving the issues with harmony.
