LAHORE: The concluding day of the PFDC L’Oreal Paris Bridal Week came to a close on Friday, where the entire media fraternity turned up in large numbers to support the coveted bridal week. A total of six prestigious designers showcased that included Nomi Ansari, Zara Shahjahan, Sonia Azhar, Republic by Omar Farooq, Muse and the Ali Xeeshan Theatre Studio.

Nomi Ansari

Nomi Ansari began the show with his stunning bridal collection. It was a very colourful, a very perky and a very bright collection. Colourful sherwanis for men could be seen, consisting of white, blue and pink mostly. We loved the white lehngas with floral embroideries, paired with cholis consisting of brocade sleeves. Nomi Ansari’s collection said an official “Bye bye” to boring plain sherwanis for men. Gold bridals dominated the ramp. We particularly liked the blue jamawar tunng pyjamas with colourful printed shirts. Apple green shararas paired with pink and gold cholis along with printed duppatas stood out.

Zara Shahjahan

Zara Shahjahan was up next with a collection which exuded an old vintage appeal. Loose kurtas with farshi ghararas set in a colour palette of off white, cream and blue dominated the collection. The new trend set were the tasselled duppatas. For the menswear, the designer presented white kurtas and trousers with bright waistcoats. Zara used a very subtle colour palette throughout. A tea pink gown with heavy embroidery looked lovely.

Sonia Azhar

Next up was Sonia Azhar’s collection. A very dainty and pixie pink ensemble could be seen, consisting of gowns and maxi dresses, which were adorned with minimal embellishments. We absolutely loved the prominent pink hand-painted gowns.

Republic by Omar Farooq

Republic by Omar Farooq’s collection was all about men’s fashion. We loved the long turbans and the white, gold and green sherwanis, paired with exquisitely designed khussas.

Muse

Dark red and blue dominated Muse’s collection that consisted of lehngas paired with knee-length shirts and net duppatas. We loved the sharara pants with short shirts and statement drapes. Each look was perfected with not just stunning jewellery but floral headgears as well.

Ali Xeeshan

Ali Xeeshan Theatre Studio closed Day 3 with a collection that was nothing short of a stunning finale. With a something for everyone approach, the designer played with a lot of colours, hues and fabrics to make this collection stand out. We loved the plain kurtas for men, the green and bold loose trousers with embellished jackets for women, red and white bridals and heavyset lehnga cholis.
