Hermione Granger’s house is on the market

Harry Potter has really taken over the real estate headlines lately.

Last week, the house that stood in as the fictional wizard’s childhood home in the films was put on the market, and this week another house featured in the films was listed on Arlington Residential for £2.4 million. The London house was used as Hermione Granger’s – Harry Potter’s best friend, portrayed by actress Emma Watson – home in ‘Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows – Part 1’, the seventh movie in the popular film series.

If you’re a Harry Potter fan, you’ll know that the house was used in the scene in which Hermione has to wipe away the memories of her non-magical, Muggle parents in order to protect them while she fights villain Voldemort and his Death Eater followers.

The house is located on a cul-de-sac in Hampstead Garden Suburb, a suburb of London and the home is selling for the first time in 60 years. The six-bedroom, two-bathroom home has three floors and private gardens in the front and back of the house. There’s also a reception room and family room, and of course, a kitchen and breakfast room. Along with the gardens, there’s no lack of green space – the home is situated near the Hampstead Heath Extension, a large, open park.

Behind the house, a larger garden is dotted with flowers and mature trees. The master bedroom opens to a private terrace that overlooks the back yard. While rolling meadows and woods surround the village, the house is only a half-hour drive from the centre of London.

As Hermione would say, “Books and cleverness! There are more important things” – like buying this bewitching house. Now we’re just eagerly waiting for the Burrow to hit the market, too.
