KARACHI: Another death from dengue fever has been reported by the Dengue Surveillance Cell, which has occurred at a private hospital in Karachi where 10-year-old girl, Marium succumbed to the deadly virus.
Marium, daughter of Faisal was a resident of F.B Area, Azizabad Karachi and died in a private hospital during treatment.
This is the third death by dengue fever which has been reported in Sindh since January 01, 2016. The dengue fever is transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes and is a global public health concern.
Meanwhile 85 more dengue viral fever cases have been detected in Karachi within a week, taking the patients toll to 1250 in the city since 1st January 2016.
As per the weekly report issued by Prevention and Control Program for Dengue in Sindh, 95 new dengue fever cases have surfaced in Sindh province since last week out of which 85 were reported from Karachi, five from Tharparkar, four from Hyderabad and one from Sukker.
