ISLAMABAD: Omar Abdul Meguid from Egypt defeated Ivan Yuen of Malaysia in three straight games in the final to win the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) International Squash Championship, which concluded at Mushaf Squash Complex Islamabad here on Sunday. Chief guest COAS General Raheel Sharif witnessed the final and distributed trophies and prizes among the winners. The tournament was organised by Army Sports Directorate in collaboration with Pakistan Squash Federation. The championship, an annual feature on the Pakistan Squash Federation calendar, has been revived this year after a suspension of eight years in a bid to woo international sports and contribute to building a healthy society. Besides Pakistan, world ranking players from Egypt, France, Hong Kong, Jordan, Malaysia and USA also participated in the week long championship. The Army Chief congratulated the winners and organisers of the tournament. The Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, was also present on the occasion.
