LAHORE: The son of Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Chairman Sadiqul Farooq mysteriously died in his home at Zaman Park on Tuesday. According to initial reports, Ali Farooq, son of Sadiqul Farooq, was present in his room which was also locked. Sources said that family members knocked on the door several times but he did not respond. They brook the door down and found him unconscious, lying on the bed. The family members took him to Services Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. On duty doctors told Daily Times that no mark of nay bruises was found on his body but the actual cause of death would be ascertained after a postmortem report. They said that the family members took the body with out any legal procedure. Police said a postmortem report would determine if the death was a case of suicide. Police said that no family members contacted police for legal formalities and if the application would be forwarded to the concerned police station, then further legal action would start as per law. Separately, the body of a 25 year-old woman packed in a suitcase who was killed with a sharp weapon was found near a drain at Choburji Qaurter Lyyton Road police station area. The body appeared to be two days old. The body was tied with ropes after it was put into a bag. Police were informed by locals regarding a suspicious grey travel suitcase near Chowk Chauburji. Police sources said that initially police had traced out the identity of the deceased girl and the case would be solved soon. Sources said that Usman, the husband of the deceased woman Anum, took her to DHA area of Lahore where he strangled Anum to death. The police also said that seven people, including a taxi driver, assisted Usman in the murder. They added that Usman fled to Saudi Arabia after the murder. Further investigations were underway.
