Recovery of property tax to be accelerated: Mukesh Kumar Chawla

Karachi: Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation and Narcotics Control Mukesh Kumar Chawla has said that Property Tax is an important segment of Excise and Taxation department and the officers concerned should accelerate the recovery of property taxes. He said this while presiding over a meeting in his office on Wednesday. The Secretary E&T Dr. Mansoob Abbas Rizvi and Director General Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui also attended the meeting. He advised  property owners to pay their due taxes promptly which is in their own interest to avoid any unpleasant situation . The Minister E&T directed the officers to provide better service facilities to property tax payers and be humble and polite to them. He further asked to achieve the target and he himself would monitor the performance of the officers zone wise. Mr. Chawla told the meeting that a property survey across the province would also be launched soon. A computerized based data would also be collected and kept for the record.
