Police providing shelter to land grabbers

ISLAMABAD: The police has started to provide shelter to the land mafia which is occupying the lands of citizens illegally in connivance with the police in Tarnol, a suburb of the federal capital. Salar Khan, a resident of Tarnol has lodged an application with the Inspector General of Police Islamabad and Interior Minister Nisar Ali Khan stating that SHO Munir Jaffery, of Tarnol, is backing the members of the land mafia. Earlier, he had supported the land mafia in illegally occupying the land owned by the top official of foreign banker Kamaluddin. “The management of the local hosing society has been trying to occupy my land illegally since long on which I have set up a mustard oil factory. The management of the housing society had already approached me to purchase this factory and land against a heavy amount but I refused to sell this business set-up as it is only my source of income”, the application added. He further stated in the application that said the SHO had threatened me to sell this factory along with the land or be ready to face dire consequences. Salar Khan, in his application has appealed to the authorities concerned to save him from the hooligans society and the concerned SHO also. Police sources said that the SHO Tarnol enjoys the full support of top officials of the department and the affected persons are now lodging applications against him to interior minister.
