ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) has kept its eyes close towards the encroachment of its precious land located in posh sector E 11, of the capital worth of more than Rs 10 billion by a private housing society, a well place source told Daily Times.
A private housing society namely ‘Multi Professional Housing Society’ (MPCHS) has usurped the CDA land from sector E 11, and erected luxurious apartments and wedding halls but the officers concerned of the CDA kept mysterious silence on this matter.
It is pertinent to mention here that Supreme Court of Pakistan had delivered a landmark judgment against the said housing society and had directed the CDA to retrieve the encroached land from MPCHS and to initiate criminal investigation against the officers who connived with land mafia and cooperated in their nefarious designs in doling out public assets to the mafias.
According to documents available with this scribe the housing society had occupied a big piece of land along with Khayaban e Iqbal and has constructed wedding hall on this land without getting any approval from the competent authority.
More than 6 wedding halls were set up on the public land but the concerned CDA officers had neither moved and nor took any punitive action against any persons, the document revealed.
The document revealed that private housing society has illegally using the CDA land measuring 156 ft inside northern stripe of E 11, without any lawful authority.
The car parking area of these wedding halls has been constructed on the public land but the CDA showed not any interest to retrieve this piece of land from the land mafia, the source told this scribe.
The documents further show that private housing society has also constructed Fortune Empire apartments project without taking approval from the competent authority and these apartments are also being erected on public land.
The source said that local people had apprised Chairman CDA about this encroachment and was requested to take strict action against land mafia but the competent authority did not take any action against the mafia so far and the public assets are now in the hands of looter and plunders.
The Daily Times has approached the concerned CDA officers and the owner of private housing society to take their views on this issue but none of them was ready to comment and both parties were reluctant to share the actual position of public land located in E 11, North stripe.
The source said that FIA has registered criminal cases against the top administration of MPHCS for encroaching public land but these criminal people are yet to be arrested and they are roaming freely in the country.
