3 alleged Lyari gangsters killed in encounter

KARACHI: The Police has killed three suspects in an alleged encounter in lyari in the wee hours of Thursday.

According to the police, teams raided in the area of Liyari Chakiwara in an operation on a tip that there were some miscreants present in the area who were demanding extortion from traders and shop keepers . The suspects opened fire on police raiding personal in a bid to escape their arrests but at least three suspects were killed in retaliation.

Rescue workers shifted their bodies to Civil hospital for postmortem where the deceased were identified as Gull Hussain, Shehzad and Anees, police said that all belonged to Liyari gang war’s Baba Ladla group.

The bodies were later handed over to their families.

Suspects were the residents of Lyari town and were traced down by their phone numbers as they were involved in extortion and had threatened some shop keepers.

On the other hand police sources have informed that the boys were of a very young age and probably new comers in the field of crime because they couldn’t find any jobs.

But the police for showing their performance killed all of them in an alleged encounter as during these days the actual members of Liyari gang war are on the run and majority of them have gone underground. Some youngsters who are unable to find jobs and since the government is doing nothing for their rehabilitation after the successful operation against gang war they are falling into wrong hands.

When contacted to the SP Liyari Aftab Nizamani he said that there is no gang war in Liyari nowadays days but he refused to comment on the alleged encounter.
