Ayesha Farooqi appointed as new FO spokesperson

Aisha Farooqui, a member of the Pakistan Foreign Service since 1994, has been appointed as the new spokesperson of the Foreign Office. Dr Mohammad Faisal, the outgoing spokesman, who has been named as Pakistan ambassador to Germany, said late Thursday. Aisha has served in several important capitals abroad in her long and diverse diplomatic career spanning more than two decades, according to her profile shared in one of Foreign office groups said. She has also contributed towards policymaking at important political desks in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad. She has served as the Consul General of Pakistan, Houston, USA, September 2016 – August 2019, Minister/Deputy Head of Mission, Pakistan Embassy, Ankara, Turkey, August 2013 – June 2016, Director Americas, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad, January – July 2013, Director India, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad, July 2010 – December 2012, Counselor, Pakistan High Commission, London, United Kingdom, November 2006 – June 2010.
