Pakistani footballer Shahlyla passes away in Karachi road accident

KARACHI: An enthusiastic Pakistani footballer Shahlyla Ahmadzai Baloch passed away in a car accident on late Wednesday night in Karachi.

Preparations to take the striker’s body to Kalat for burial are underway.Family sources told that the deceased was sitting on the passenger seat when the accident took place.

Called as the first female to score a hat-trick at the international level, she was born in 1996 and was hardly 20-year-old. Shahlyla Baloch had received the FIFA’s youngest player award when she was only 7 years old.

She represented the country in South Asian Football Federation Women Football Championship 2014 in Islamabad.In an interview, the player had also said that she was inspired by Maradona and Messi.
