A special tax seminar was organised in Okara to raise awareness among the businessmen, retailers, traders and the public about the Point of Sale Invoicing System introduced by the Federal Board of Revenue. Javed Iqbal Sheikh, Commissioner of Income Tax Okara, organized the tax seminar in Okara under the special direction of Chief Commissioner Sahiwal Shaiban Bhatti who attended the seminar as a chief guest. Businessmen, retailers, traders and tax payers from Okara district, attended the seminar. On this occasion, tax officials of Okara zone, Additional Commissioner Waseem Ashraf, Special Assistant Commissioner Dr. Sajjad Siddique were also present. At the seminar, traders were informed about the point-of-sale invoicing system introduced by the FBR under which the tax collected from the public would be deposited immediately in the national treasury. Addressing the seminar, Chief Commissioner Shaiban Bhatti said that point-of-sale invoicing is a system that will not only facilitate businessmen, traders, retailers but also enable buyers and tax payers to confirm their quick and full payment of tax on their mobile phones. Chief Commissioner directs other officials including Okara Zone Commissioner Dr Javed Iqbal Sheikh to take continuous steps to create possible awareness about the new invoicing system in Okara zone’s traders and citizens. He added that Point of Sale is an automated shopping recording system that connects the computerized system of major retailer sales to the FBR system through the Internet. It would also help to generate sales tax returns through automation. Commissioner Income Tax Okara Zone Dr Javed Iqbal Sheikh briefed Chief Commissioner Shaiban Bhatti about the steps taken to create awareness amongst tax payers, businessmen, retailers and the public about the Point of Sales invoicing system in Okara Zone. He assured that steps would be taken make the public aware. In this regard, Okara Zone is here to provide all possible help and guidance. He added that teams of tax officials and personnel have also been formed to raise awareness about the new system.
