KHYBER AGENCY: Offi-ce bearers of the FATA Disable Cricket Association (FDCA) on Thursday accused officials of the Social Welfare Department, FATA Secretariat of swallowing millions of rupees in the name of FATA disable players.
FDCA General Secretary, Haji Akbar Shinwari while talking to reporters here in LandiKotalPress Club said that FATA officials were exploiting their rights and have embezzled millions of rupees allocated for tribal disable players. Akbar Shinwari alleged that the Social Welfare Department officials were corrupt and incompetent to help promote special persons games.
Shinwari said that the number of disable persons in FATA was gradually increasing while FATA officials could not established health and training institution so that world class players could be introduced.
He alleged that the Social Welfare Department had failed to help disabled players to compete in different games. “FATA Sports Director, Assistant Chief Secretary and Health Department are also not paying attention to the welfare to the FATA special players,” Shinwari expressed.
He said FDCA on self-help basis had organized several sports events and played a vital role to provide facilities to the disabled players. “Despite the limited economic resources FATA disable players are participating in different national and international games and have won several medals for Pakistan,” Shinwari maintained.
The official of the disable association urged the concerned FATA officials to treat disable players with dignity as they have the right to live their life with honour.
