ATC rejects bail plea of accused in Sahiwal acid attack case

SAHIWAL: Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Judge Syed Shabbir Hussain Awan has rejected the bail plea of Fahad Khan, accused of throwing acid on a stage actress in Sahiwal. According to reports, the accused allegedly threw acid on stage actress, Anjum Shehzadi, on a bus stand at Arifwala Road. The stage actress was waiting for her bus to Lahore on May 25, when Fahad, along with his friend, poured a bottle of acid on Anjum Shahzadi, who was critically burnt. The police said that Fahad Khan wanted to marry her, but she rejected the proposal. She was rushed to the Civil Hospital of Sahiwal for treatment. Police registered a case against the suspects and arrested Fahad Khan.
