LAHORE: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore on Friday started the rechecking of intermediate part-one papers following the protest of students regarding the alleged miss marking.

Thousands of students thronged into BISE Lahore office for filing the application regarding rechecking of their papers. However, the students were not being given proper receipts against their applications, as only the form number along with stamp was being provided to them. Another issue, observed during rechecking process, was that only the marks of students would be counted rather than the complete evaluation of solved papers.

It is pertinent to mention that students of intermediate held a massive protest against the unjust marking by board officials and demanded the government and other concerned authorities to provide them justice by rechecking their answer sheets. While talking to Daily Times, students said that the BISE officials have already put students in trouble and it was adding the problems after issuing such confusing receipts. They said that board officials should have completely rechecked the papers themselves before announcing the results.

Abuzar, student of a private college, was of the view that the board officials were still planning to add problems for students, as they were not properly cooperating with them. He said that he had submitted the application of rechecking but in reply he was provided with only a simple white paper consisting of form number and a stamp, which meant that he does not have any authentic source for getting his marks evaluated.

Sadia, another student, said that she worked day and night for her intermediate exams, but when the result came out, she was shocked to see her marks, which were far less than expected. She believed that there was a lack of competency in the BISE Lahore office, adding that the authorities should hire educated and talented people instead of hiring blue-eyed favourites.

Sadia further said that the chief minister, instead of taking notice or asking for inquiry report in this regard, should have dismissed all the concerned authorities responsible for ruining the future of talented students.
