ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the federal capital on Monday to discuss matters pertaining to national and regional security.
Local media quoting sources said – during the meeting – the two leaders discussed three key issues that included Indian aggression at Line of Control (LoC), security situation at the western borders and implementation on National Action Plan (NAP).
The army chief briefed the prime minister over the success of operation Zarb-e-Azb and the plan of action formulated by the security forces on for the NAP’s implementation. Nawaz expressed confidence in the armed forces’ response against the Indian aggression at the LoC.
