Author: Daily Times

Sir: Lahore, once called City of Gardens has been badly affected by the rampant pollution and smog witnessing cloud of haze, eye-itching, sore-throat and environmental degradation. After industrial revolution, industrial smoke and waste playing havoc to people of Lahore.

Despite having strict laws, some industrialists are violating the environmental laws by not treating the waste, water and the smoke before releasing it into the environment. Residents of Daroghewala are continuously complaining about industrial smog and smoke but city government is unable to stop these smoke-emitted factories. Factory-owners always manoeuvre those who raid to inspect them.
