Pakhtuns must unite to get rid of current miseries: moot

Author: Sajid Khan

PESHAWAR: Pakhuns must be united in their ranks as it is the only solution to get rid of current miseries faced by Pakhtuns nationality. Pakhtuns are residing in all provinces of Pakistan, Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA), Afghanistan and India but unfortunately no one is fighting for the Pakhtuns rights and interest and are busy and give priority to his personal interests.

This was crux of the seminar organized by the organizers of Doctor Khan Tehreek (DKT) here on Wednesday at the Peshawar Press Club. The main speakers of the event were Engineer Toor Gul Chamkani, Abdul Sattar, Hussain Roghani, Ameen Ikhlas, Iftekhar Qazi, Arbab Mir Afzal Khan and others.

The speakers delivered their speeches on the issues being faced by the Pakhtun nation and presented their suggestions to come out the Pakhtuns from the current deterioration.

Toor Gul said that the Pakhtuns are living in all over Pakistan including FATA, Afghanistan and India no one is ready to fight for their rights and are busy and give priority to his personal interests. The Pakhtuns, he said had been made deprived most of their valid rights and were always ignored to facilitate them. “The Britain through divide and rule policy divided the Pakhtun nation in various faction and for this purpose the English rulers gained the supports of Maliks and Khans”, he said, adding that Khans as well as Maliks had given their personal interests to priority.

“The Pakistani tribesmen are slaves of Pakistan while Pakistan is the slave of United States of America”, he said, adding, “Until Pakhtuns are united in a state, their mother tongue and Pakhtunwali, their issue cannot be solved”.

Therefore, it is need of hour to create awareness among the Pakhtuns to get united and snatch their rights”, he suggested. Similarly, he said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had been ignored in China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project and gives a giant share to Punjab.

Abdul Sattar while highlighting the issues of the Pakhtun tribes said that Pakhtuns had ruled over India sub-continent for over 350 years but unfortunately today they are suffering for their basic rights. He maintained that through a conspiracy Pakhtuns had divided and if they become united they would be the strongest nation of the entire world.

He said that for positive change and revolution union and awareness is obligatory, adding that Pakhtuns were rich in their resources but they did not have any control on that resources. He appealed to the Pakhtuns to elect those leaders who can fight for the Pakhtuns’ rights. He demanded of the government to provide education to their children in their mother language.

He said that Pakhtuns were kind hearted and peaceful people and are very hospitable and cooperated with the Afghan refugees living in Pakistan. He demanded of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government not to harass the Afghan refugees.

Iftekhar Qazi said that Pakhtuns were most intellectual people but had lack of knowledge and sincere leadership. Due to lack of trust and depend on each other, the Pakhtuns had divided.

“In the current era Pakhtuns have no such leader to come out the Pakhtun nation from present miseries.”
